It 'true that the MacBook Air is not for everyone, this is the best computer I've heard. Mine is the SSD version, and this is my work computer that is used for Web development, occasional graphics work in Creative Suite and accounting with QuickBooks for Windows via Parallels.
After reading all the discussions about the relative performance against more powerful machines, and complaints about the lack of ports and other "features", I discovered that the actual daily ease of useis incredible. And 'quiet and extremely portable, the screen is fantastic, the trackpad is very responsive, waking from sleep is instantaneous and the speed for regular work with different applications is very fast.
